  • Pages visited and time spent
  • The site or search engine that referred you to us
  • Anonymous Google Analytics identifiers (cookies)

We use what you share with us to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and schedule appointments
  • Match you with the counselor best suited to your needs
  • Communicate with you about your sessions
  • Send appointment reminders and follow-ups

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with marketing partners. We do not use it for advertising outside our own practice.

How We Protect Your Information

We use industry-standard security measures to protect the information you submit through our website, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our internal systems.

For information you share during counseling sessions or in clinical records, we follow HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) requirements. Your Notice of Privacy Practices, provided at intake, governs how clinical information is handled. This website Privacy Policy does not replace that Notice — it covers your interaction with the website only.

Third-Party Services We Use

We use a small set of third-party tools to operate the site. Each handles a narrow function:

  • Google Analytics 4 — anonymous traffic analytics. Helps us understand which pages people use most.
  • CleanTalk — spam protection on our contact form. Filters out automated submissions.
  • SimplePractice (clientsecure.me) — secure HIPAA-compliant booking and intake portal for current and prospective clients. SimplePractice’s own privacy policy governs information you enter there.
  • Google Maps — embedded location maps. Google’s privacy policy governs what they collect from those embeds.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We chose tools with strong privacy practices, but we encourage you to review their policies if you have specific concerns.

Cookies

Our site uses a small number of cookies for analytics and to remember your preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so does not affect your ability to schedule an appointment or contact us by phone.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what information we have about you
  • Request that we correct any inaccurate information
  • Request that we delete information we no longer need
  • Opt out of any email communication

Children’s Privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

For counseling services to minors (typically age 13 and up), we obtain parental or guardian consent before any clinical engagement.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days.
