Services at Our Fuquay-Varina Location
We offer three counseling services at our Fuquay-Varina office. Each is available in-person or through secure telehealth, so care stays close to home whether you live in town or drive in from the surrounding area.
Counseling for Individuals
One-on-one sessions for adults working through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-esteem, and spiritual questions. Your counselor will build a plan around your specific goals rather than follow a one-size-fits-all program. Learn more about individual counseling.
Marriage and Relationship Counseling
For couples dealing with communication breakdowns, trust issues, conflict patterns, or emotional distance. Sessions give you practical tools you can use between appointments, not just talk about the problems. Learn more about marriage counseling.
Substance Use and Addiction Counseling
Specialized support for clients struggling with alcohol, drugs, or behavioral addictions. Krista Baughn leads this area. Her training in co-occurring disorders means she can address the addiction and the underlying mental health factors at the same time.

How Faith Fits Into Our Counseling
We are a Christian practice, and faith shapes how we understand people and their struggles. That said, we are licensed clinical professionals first. Every counselor on our team holds a graduate degree from an accredited university and a North Carolina counseling license.
In practice, this means we use the same evidence-based methods as any licensed counselor: cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and others. Most clients want to bring their faith into the conversation, and we welcome it. We can pray together, reference Scripture, or explore how spiritual beliefs connect to the issues at hand.

What to Expect at Your First Visit
Starting counseling can feel intimidating. Here’s how the process works so there are no surprises.
Step 1: Reach out. Call (919) 812-7535 or use our online contact form. We’ll ask a few questions about what you’re going through and match you with the counselor who fits your needs best.
Step 2: Complete your intake paperwork. Before your first session, you’ll fill out the necessary legal documents and bring them with you to your first session. This will allow us to move quickly into therapeutically beneficial conversation, and not have your first session diminished by lengthy administrative tasks.
Step 3: Your first session. Your counselor will spend the first session getting to know you. This is a conversation, not an interrogation. You’ll talk about what brought you in, what you hope to change, and any questions you have about the process. By the end, you and your counselor will outline a direction for your work together.
Sessions last 45 minutes. Frequency depends on your needs. Many clients start with weekly sessions and move to biweekly as they progress.
