Services at Our Cary Location
We offer three core counseling services, each available in-person at our Cary offices or through secure telehealth.
Counseling for Individuals
One-on-one sessions for adults working through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, self-esteem, and spiritual questions. Your counselor will build a plan around your specific goals rather than a one-size-fits-all program. Learn more about individual counseling.
Marriage and Relationship Counseling
For couples dealing with communication breakdowns, trust issues, conflict patterns, or emotional distance. Sessions focus on practical tools you can use between appointments, not just talking about problems. Learn more about marriage counseling.
Substance Use and Addiction Counseling
Specialized support for clients struggling with alcohol, drugs, or behavioral addictions. Krista Baughn leads this area with training in co-occurring disorders, meaning she can address both the addiction and the underlying mental health factors at the same time. Learn more about substance use counseling.

How Faith Fits Into Our Counseling
We are a Christian practice, and faith shapes how we understand people and their struggles. That said, we are licensed clinical professionals first. Every counselor on our team holds a graduate degree from an accredited university and a North Carolina counseling license.
In practice, this means we use the same evidence-based methods as any licensed counselor: cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and others. Most clients want to bring their faith into the conversation, and we welcome it. We can pray together, reference Scripture, or explore how spiritual beliefs connect to the issues at hand.
We do not push faith on anyone. Some clients prefer a purely clinical approach, and we respect that completely. You set the pace.

What to Expect at Your First Visit
Starting counseling can feel intimidating. Here's how the process works so there are no surprises.
Step 1: Reach out. Call (919) 812-7535 or use our online contact form. We will ask a few questions about what you're going through and match you with the counselor who fits your needs best.
Step 2: Complete your intake paperwork. Before your first session, you'll fill out the necessary legal documents and bring them with you. This lets us move quickly into therapeutically beneficial conversation and avoid spending your first session on administrative tasks.
Step 3: Your first session. Your counselor will spend the first session getting to know you. This is a conversation, not an interrogation. You'll talk about what brought you in, what you hope to change, and any questions you have about the process. By the end, you and your counselor will outline a direction for your work together.
Sessions last 45 minutes. Frequency depends on your needs. Many clients start with weekly sessions and move to biweekly as they progress.
Common Questions About Our Practice
Do I need to be Christian to come here?
No. We welcome clients of all faith backgrounds and those with no religious affiliation. Our counselors are trained to meet you where you are. Faith integration happens only if you want it.
Do you accept insurance?
We are out-of-network providers. We provide a receipt after each session that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many insurance plans provide reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services according to plan benefits. Contact your insurer to check your benefits.
How much does a session cost?
Session rates vary by counselor. Call (919) 812-7535 for current pricing. We believe cost should not be the only barrier to getting help, so talk to us if you have concerns.
How long does counseling take?
There is no set timeline. Some clients see meaningful progress in 4 to 8 sessions. Others benefit from longer-term work. Your counselor will check in regularly on your goals and adjust the plan as needed.
Is telehealth available?
Yes. All of our counselors offer telehealth sessions through a HIPAA-compliant video platform. Telehealth is available to anyone located in North Carolina.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Call (919) 812-7535 or submit a request through our contact page. We typically respond within one business day.
